Due to the 2013 California Fire Code Regulations, these are homes that are now considered high risk, whether or not they are actually near trees and brush.
This is also called Builder’s Risk insurance and is designed to insure buildings or projects, (residential or commercial) while they are under construction.
California homeowners’ policies do not include earthquake coverage. Earthquake insurance is a available on a separate standalone policy for both residential and commercial property.
Homes without curb appeal, fixer-uppers, and generally any home in need of obvious repair fall into this category. These homes are typically vacant and/or uninhabitable.
Property insurance specifically excludes floods, so a separate policy must be written for flood insurance, and is required by mortgage companies if the property is in specific flood zones.
Many admitted carriers no longer write or renew policies for properties that have had claims on them. We can write policies for homes with prior property or liability claims.
